Our

Story

Our experience

10+ years

I've had dogs all my life, as has Kenne, but he was also raised in the country with all types of animals ... cows, pigs, goats, donkey, cats, horses, etc. All of our friends and family call Kenne "the dog whisperer" because dogs are drawn to him in a special way. We had about 7 cows a couple years ago, and I got to deliver my first calf ... what an experience! As stated in the "About Us" section, I love to garden and have somewhat of a green thumb (from my mom & grandma). So caring for plants is something I enjoy doing and am pretty good at. Kenne is the guy who can figure anything out and is thoughtful in his approach to any home repair. So if something were to go wrong or need attention while we are sitting, we can fix or make wise decisions. We have been pet sitters for Rover.com and have cared for about 6 dogs in that time - a great dane puppy, a corgi, a blue heeler, a chichuahua, and a couple mixed breeds. Received all 5-star reviews from the clients who boarded their dogs with us. We were successful in in integrating the dogs we kept into our household and our dogs that resulted in everyone getting along :) We are also great communicators and would stay in touch with you, the homeowner, to keep you updated on your pets or any issues/questions about your home.

INTRODUCTION

Hi, I'm Linda Moon, and although retired from corporate life, I now run a 501c3 nonprofit pet organization called "Pet Endowment Trust (PET)".  This is a passion project for me and my fiance, Kenne Smith, who is currently working but approaching retirement.  We both love to travel and use many of our travels to promote the PET!  We love exploring new places and are drawn to coastal/warmer climates, but also love the mountains.  We love to walk the downtown streets and towns we visit to learn how the locals live and find interesting things to do and eat!

We are both animal lovers!  We have 3 dogs, Luna (9) is a blue heeler, Iris is a mini Aussie (3-4 years old) that we recently adopted from the Humane Society, and Gypsy is a mini Aussie (2 years, 4 months) that has been trained as a companion dog and travels with us as an ambassador for the PET Organization when possible!  Our girls are all trained well and easy to manage.  They are indoor and outdoor dogs, who are treated like the family they are to us.

We live about 30 miles north of Beaumont, Texas, in a small, more rural setting.  Our place is on 7 acres, with a gated entrance, secure fencing, about a 1/4 acre  fish pond, and plenty of land for our dogs to run, play and exercise.  Our house is a newer brick home with an open floor plan and private guest bedroom with queen bed and bath for any sitters staying in our home.

Some of the things I like to spend my time on include gardening - love getting my hands in the dirt, planting flowers and herbs, and landscaping projects.  I also love to decorate and have actually done some of that professionally.  For many years, I have been a professional pianist/vocalist for my own business called Moonlite Entertainment and love all types of music.  Getting together with other musicians to play is always a good time!

Kenne is a great carpenter, and has built shops, barns and many other projects over the years.  He's that guy that can figure out how to fix anything!  He also loves fishing and regularly goes kayak fishing around our area.  We also have a boat that we take on lake and river day trips to fish or float ... or both!

We are premier pet sitters and while we do accept free sits, we also accept payment for our expertise in taking care of your fur babies and home that is a donation to the nonprofit we founded and run, Pet Endowment Trust (www.petendowment.org).

We love traveling to new places and we love animals!  That's the most obvious reason, but I mentioned before, we'll also take the opportunity to do charity work promoting the mission of the PET organization to the local veterinarians in the area.  That mission is for pet owners to "Remember Your Pets When Making A Will."

We also have a 5 acre "private" dog park on our property that is available for rent.  In addition, we have started the "National Dog Park Association", which you can read more about at www.nationaldogpark.org.

We're a trustworthy and fun couple and people can check us out on our facebook and linkedin profiles to see who we are and how we spend our time while traveling on adventures.  We believe we can provide a warm and safe experience for your pets, while also providing us with a great travel experience!

Leslie – Santa Rosa Beach, FL (2024):

Linda & Kenne were 5 star all the way! Communication before the sit was great we texted several time to make arrangements. Linda always responded in a timely manner. They arrived the day before at our agreed time at 3pm. We had several hours to go over all the instructions and for them to get acquainted with the pets. I made dinner and then we settled in and watched some TV together. Our sit was for 16 days. There were absolutely no issues, and we have a house full! Five cats, four dogs, deer feeders and bird feeders. They even mowed the lawn. The house was clean and tidy, they washed all the linen and most important the pets were healthy and happy! It would be a honor to have them come back in the future to pet sit again.

Stephanie & James, Fairhope, AL (2023):

We were so very thrilled with Linda and Kenne! Not one moment we were away were we worried. First, we were so thankful they were able to modify their dates with a change of schedule for us. Our life can be very spontaneous, and Linda was so kind to understand! Our house was IMPECCABLY in order and clean like I left it. Our beagles were the only ones left behind (we too the chihuahuasl), and we felt they were cared for like we would care for them! We could only hope to have them sit everytime!! If anyone wants to reach out directly, we are happy to answer any questions!

Jennifer, San Antonio (2023):

Linda and Kenne were the absolute perfect house/pet sitters! They were very easy to communicate with, (lots of pics of our doggie too!), were flexible with timing, and reliable. They took our pup on many walks and adventures while we were away and watered our many plants in the garden. When we came home, our house was sparkling clean and they even washed and dried the bed sheets and towels. I would hope to have them house/pet sit again, should they ever want to come back to San Antonio. Massive thanks for taking such good care of our pup and house while we were away.

Caren Bell, Tomball, TX (2023):

Linda & Kenne looked after Caren’s pets & home

My mother suddenly went into the hospital and Linda came to our home and took care of everything! She even took over potty training our new puppy! She has a genuine spirit to help others and honor your special requests for your home and fur babies.

Linda & Kenne looked after Tracey’s pets & home

Linda is reliable and loves pets. You'll find her friendly with a positive nature. She is detailed and orderly. At a time in my life when I was ill and unable to take care of my pets, my home, my bills... Linda graciously helped me through this period. You can count on Linda.
